Blog question

So here's a random question. What blogs do you all read? Turns out everyone I know (within a certain demographic) has a handful of blogs they read on a regular basis. Everything from Steampunk to News of the Weird to slang dictionaries. I just write in this one and check out my freinds' ljs on occassion. Since I'm trying to get more plugged into the zeitgeist as I come out of the first-year fog, I want to know.

Also, Nikki wants to know if you can "hear" a character's or narrator's voice in your head when you read?

Um, I'm an old dork and I don't read any blogs except this one... relic that I am, I actually get the newspaper.

And when I read, I don't hear anything, but I definitely see a movie in my head.

Josh, a voracious reader at age 10, says that when a book is really good, he even smells things.

If you're on LJ, remind me of your name, so you can peek in on mine.

metafilter tends to be mostly it. I'm not big on reading random stranger's blogs at the moment, though I do often read other people's posts about other blogs, like Pandagon. Always read the NYTimes online, though.

Actually, I only read life blogs like yours. I keep up with a lot of them on LJ, plus a few elsewhere. I have not been able to get into political, technical, or otherwise impersonal commentary.

Same as David, if you have LJ access, let me know....

Cathy- as a former Luddite and computer toddler like May is a walker, I just do this blog (which I wouldn't miss). However, at this new job I am enmeshed in all sorts of listserve specialized disability/legislative stuff. New thing to come to work and find 64 emails! Also, Grandpa Murray's prostate cancer is more aggressive, so he's going to need radiation seeds- echh!

Im still dubious that reading this blog is worth it. Blogs give people an (unhealthy) sense of solipsism. Manda claims I should read her blog -- which I am, albeit all at once for the past 7 months. But, to date blogs are just there because people think that someone else cares (which, is in the realm of credibility,) but if I know the person, then Ill take actual 2 way communication with them anyday, thanks!
