May got in!

It seems silly to be rejoicing that my two year old got into a school, but she did and we're very excited. She got accepted for afternoons at Drumlin Farm starting this fall. It'll be a little be of a stretch for us -- driving out to Lincoln, tuition, etc. But we think it's really wonderful and important for our little city baby to learn that there are more animals than squirrels, dogs, cats, and coons.

We swung out to Drumlin today, actually, and saw the new baby lambs which were all born this week. We also got to taste maple sap straight from the tree and then sample some of Drumlin Farm's very own maple syrup straight off the fire. May was very excited by this and we're hoping that she'll love her time at preschool.

Education is, of course, the corner stone to getting a good job. And while we're trying not to project too much on the vagaries of a toddler's whims, we have supposed there are a few things she might actually be good at:

Here, we see our darling little girl practicing to be an architect! She stacked all those blocks by herself, proving a fabulous grasp of physics and very fine motor control.

If the whole building thing doesn't work out, she can be a food critic. She's already able to discern whole milk versus two percent with just a sip. "NO!" she will protest. "May May milk, NOT mommydaddy milk!"
